Ann is the Managing and Founding Partner of the Firm.
Ann has curved out a niche in the practice of Arbitration; as both an Arbitrator and Counsel in Arbitration & Adjudication Matters. She is often appointed on Arbitral tribunals and Dispute Avoidance & Adjudication Boards because of her recognized unique analytical skill set coupled with a critical attention to detail. Further, because of her recognized experience and thought leadership, Ms. Namara is widely sought after as a panellist and moderator to discuss the trending issues affecting the arbitration sector regionally and internationally by bodies including; the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators-Uganda Chapter, International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitration & ADR Forum (ICC YAAF) and the Uganda Law Society. She has also conducted trainings within the East African Community for inhouse lawyers for a Petroleum Company and is a recognized thought leader on leading cases and trends in the practice of arbitration.
Ann is also a seasoned Construction Law Expert and she has extensive experience in the representation of multinational clients especially in construction related disputes arising from breach of the terms of construction contracts and because of her expertise, the firm is retained by leading players in the construction industry.
Ann also provides corporate and compliance services as well as legal representation in commercial disputes to both local and international Clients who because of her attention to detail and the ability to provide out of the box solutions; hold her services in high regard.
Prior to establishing Namara Musinguzi & Co. Advocates, Ann worked with ALP Advocates as Head of the firm’s Corporate & Commercial Department and later headed the Regulatory & Compliance Department of the firm.
Ann also worked with Arcadia Advocates and MB Gimara Advocates, majorly in the Banking & Financing where she was the Deputy Head of the Department and Corporate & Commercial Department respectively. In all the mentioned law firms, Ann meticulously delivered beyond what was expected of her and left an indelible mark.
Ann is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda, and a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East Africa Law Society. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Makerere University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre in Kampala and a Certificate in Trial Advocacy from Justice Advocacy Africa. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators United Kingdom.
